Abstract

The Skills of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Teachers in Providing Reinforcement and Its Influence on Students' Learning Motivation in PAI Subject for Class VIII at SMP Negeri 9 Parepare (supervised by Muh. Djunaidi and Herdah). The skill of teachers in providing reinforcement is a form of response given by educators to positive behaviors exhibited by students, which leads to the repetition of such behaviors. Learning motivation is an internal drive within students to improve the quality of their learning, enabling them to achieve their desired goals. This research aims to determine the effect of PAI teachers' skills in providing reinforcement on students' learning motivation. This research is of a quantitative associative type with a correlational quantitative design. The sample consisted of 149 students out of a population of 263. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling, where sample members are selected randomly from the population without considering existing strata. Data collection techniques included observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis techniques employed were descriptive and inferential statistical analysis using the Pearson product-moment formula.The results of this study indicate that: (1) The skills of PAI teachers in providing reinforcement are categorized as low, with 65.60%, as evidenced by analyzing the questionnaire results from 149 respondents. (2) The learning motivation of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 9 Parepare is categorized as moderate, at 76.20%, as evidenced by analyzing the questionnaire results from 149 respondents. (3) There is a significant effect of PAI teachers' skills in providing reinforcement on the learning motivation of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 9 Parepare, as evidenced by the data analysis results from the questionnaire with a significance value of
