Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of teacher questioning skills on the motivation to learn mathematics in class VIII students at MTs Al-Khairaat Buntulia. This study used a quantitative approach, the type of research used in this study is an experiment with a quasi-experimental method with a Post-test control design. This study was conducted on 39 students, consisting of 21 students in the experimental and 18 in the control classes. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it shows that based on the results of the Independent Samples t-test, the value of the research results and hypothesis testing are obtained. Based on the t-test results, the significant value is 0.168> 0.05, then H1 is accepted. If the calculated t value = 21.560> t table = t (0.025.37) = 2.026, then H1 is accepted. So, the application of teacher questioning skills has a significant influence on students' motivation to learn mathematics. The average score of student learning motivation in the experimental class is higher by 21,603 points compared to the control class, with an interval of 19,573 to 23,633. Then, the giving of treatment in the experimental class has been proven to increase the motivation to learn mathematics significantly..
