Analisis Penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia dalam Media Sosial diKalangan Remaja Ditinjau dari Ketepatan Bahasa dan PengaruhBahasa Gaul
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the use of Indonesian language in social mediaamong teenagers, reviewed from the aspects of language accuracy and theinfluence of slang (bahasa gaul). Using a qualitative descriptive approachthrough library research, data were collected from scientific journals, books, and previous studies. The results show that: (1) the use of Indonesianlanguage on social media by teenagers shows a significant shift from standardlanguage norms; (2) slang terms and abbreviations dominate teenagers'social media communication; (3) language accuracy is generally low, markedby frequent spelling errors, mixing of languages, and non-standard grammarusage; and (4) the influence of slang has both positive implications—such asforming social identity—and negative ones, including the erosion of standardIndonesian language competence. This study concludes that there is a needfor a balanced approach in language education that acknowledges thedynamics of youth communication while reinforcing standard language skills.
