Analisis Gaya Bahasa Sarkasme Netizen di Instagram Media Sosial

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of sarcasm by netizens onInstagram and to describe its forms, meanings, and impacts indigital communication. This study employs a qualitativedescriptive approach using a literature review method basedon relevant articles and journals. Based on a review of varioussources, sarcastic language style shows a tendency to be adominant form of speech in netizen interactions, particularlyin comments. Sarcasm is generally manifested in the form ofharsh remarks, sharp jabs, and attacks on physical and mentalaspects. From a pragmatic perspective, sarcasm carriesindirect meaning that depends on context, whereas from asociolinguistic perspective, this phenomenon reflects shifts incommunication patterns within digital society, which tends tobe more free-form and less constrained by norms. The use ofsarcasm is influenced by freedom of expression, useranonymity, and the open nature of social media. The resultingimpacts include psychological stress, a decline incommunication quality, and the potential for conflict.Therefore, awareness and linguistic ethics are necessary in theuse of social media.
