Abstract

Digital media and technology also play a role in languagedevelopment. The use of social media and other advancedtechnologies has enabled wider use of languages andfacilitated easier language learning. The aim of this research isto understand the impact of social media on the use ofIndonesian. The research method used in qualitative literaturestudy methods is a research approach carried out by analyzingand synthesizing relevant scientific studies that have beenpreviously published in the form of journal articles, books,reports and other sources. Research Results: Social media hasopened up opportunities for greater accessibility for theIndonesian language in the current era of globalization.However, this influence has also brought about many changesin the correct grammar and spelling of Indonesian. On theother hand, social media has also made it easier to transferculture and communication practices from various countriesand cultures around the world, thus allowing the Indonesianlanguage to enrich itself and continue to develop in aspectsthat may only be obtained from a particular variety of cultureand communication practices.
