This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This approach is a process-based problem-solving approach through careful examination by describing the state of the topic or object of study in the form of people, communities, organizations, and others in accordance with existing reality. The head of the Sapati Buton Art Studio, Zulfikar, stated that although this mangaru dance has undergone many innovations and modifications, its foundation remains in the spirit of courage in times of war. Today, this dance is usually performed to welcome guests, entertainment and cultural festival events. In its development, the efforts of the young men and women of the Buton tribe paid off by forming an art studio, namely the Sapati art studio as a forum for expressing the cultural heritage of their parents in various cities in Indonesia and one of them in Samarinda City.
