Dinamika Penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Daerah Dalam Komunikasi Sehari Hari di Gorontalo
Abstract
Maintaining a balance between the use of Indonesian and regional languages in Gorontalo requires a multi-stakeholder approach. Formal education plays a crucial role by incorporating regional languages into the curriculum to ensure younger generations continue to master them. Additionally, digital technology can be utilized to spread knowledge about the Gorontalo language, such as through applications and social media platforms that offer engaging language learning experiences. Families also play an essential role in fostering the habit of using regional languages at home, which helps instill pride in this cultural heritage. Local governments are equally important in supporting policies that promote the use of regional languages. Various cultural activities and public awareness seminars can further encourage people to appreciate and use their native language. Through collective efforts from society, educators, the government, and technological advancements, the Gorontalo language can be preserved and actively used in daily life despite the dominance of the Indonesian language.
