Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach in enhancing the understanding of force concepts in mechanics through the use of simple experiments conducted in real-world settings. The CTL approach is employed to connect physics concepts—such as gravitational force, frictional force, and magnetic force—with observable phenomena in everyday life. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation, systematic note-taking, and visual documentation. The experiments were carried out in open spaces using easily accessible tools and materials, and were designed to reflect the practical application of force concepts. The findings indicate that context-based experimentation offers a tangible illustration of the relationship between theory and practice, while also reinforcing conceptual understanding through direct, hands-on experiences.
