Simulasi Erupsi Gunung Berapi Belajar Proses Alam Semesta secara Praktis
Abstract
This study aims to explain the volcanic eruption process through a simple simulation using easily accessible materials such as vinegar, baking soda, water, dish soap (Sunlight), and red food coloring. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to explore the understanding of students and lecturers regarding geological processes in a hands-on context. The simulation demonstrated that the chemical reaction between vinegar and baking soda produces gas pressure that forces liquid out of the container, resembling a volcanic eruption. This activity offers a contextual, applicable, and engaging learning experience while enhancing students' critical thinking skills and scientific understanding. The simulation proves that complex natural processes can be effectively illustrated through simple and accessible educational methods.
