Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of construction errors in syntax in arguments for class X students at  SMK Negeri 4 Kolaka Utara. In these errors there are phrase construction errors and sentence construction errors in the arguments of class X students of  SMK Negeri 4 Kolaka Utara. The subjects in this study used the word bergumentasi against class X students of SMK Negeri 4 Kolaka Utara. The object of the research is construction errors in syntax in the arguments of class X students at  SMK Negeri 4 Kolaka Utara. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method, which can describe the existence of syntactic construction errors in the arguments of class X students at X SMK Negeri 4 Kolaka Utara. To collect data on syntactic construction errors, use listening and note-taking techniques as well as good hearing. The instrument in this research is the researcher himself. The results of research on syntactic construction in argumentation of class Construction errors also have 3 errors, namely, errors in word order, incorrect meaning, and incompleteness of existing phrase elements. Meanwhile, construction errors in sentences include errors in the use of functions, use of functions as an incorrect predicate, and the absence of function elements. and incomplete sentences. The choice of prepositions using conjunctions also does not have the right prepositions as well as the use of double conjunctions. There are two causes of syntactic construction errors, namely linguistic interference and grammatical errors.
